PURPOSE:To provide a complete combustion of fuel with a main constituent of methane at a low preheating temperature and under a high linear speed without generating nitrogen oxide by a method wherein a palladium catalyst layer and a platinum catalyst layer are arranged in two stages. CONSTITUTION:The first catalyst layer containing active constituent of palladium is arranged at the inlet part, then the second catalyst layer containing active constituent of platinum is arranged, the first catalyst layer of palladium is combustioned to heat up to 400-800 deg.C, the second catalyst layer of platinum is combustioned to heat up to 700-1,500 deg.C, thereby methane can be completely combustioned. This catalyst combustion system is assembled in a power generating gas turbine system, and can be applied to perform an efficient thermal recovery caused by after-treatment of gas fed from a power generating boiler, a thermal recovery boiler and a gas engine and a recovery of heat and power for a city gas space heating etc. |
