Bread sticks and rusks mfe. in which a pasty mass of leavened dough is cut and drawn out automatically by a machine consisting of a series of co-planar endless belts, forming section of a transfer plane which move at different speeds in the same direction. Each sector consists of the endless belt, a motor-driven roller and a baking oven. A steel disc cutter between the first and second sectors cuts the dough into sticks. The speeds of the different endless belts vary progressively. The cut sticks are transferred to the second belt, which is advancing at twice the speed of the first, and are subjected to drawing at the gap between the sectors. The process is continued at the other sectors and the cross-section of the sticks is reduced and their edges become rounded. They then pass to the oven and, before or after baking are cut to the required length. All hand manipulation, which might affect the dough, is avoided.
|
