The insulating sheet (1) is advantageously of wedge-shaped cross-section at both longitudinal edges (11, 13). The visible-side wedge faces (110, 130) are arranged flush with the visible side (10), whereas the rear-side wedge faces (l11, 131) run at an angle to the rear side (12). A rock granulate (100) is adhesively applied to the visible side (10) so that a weld region (101) is left free. When two such insulating webs (1) are welded together, the wedge face (131) comes to bear on the wedge face (110) and thus in the weld region (101). The edge faces (112, 132) then run virtually [lacuna], whereas the wedge face (111) comes into a position virtually flush with the rear face (12). Cost-effective manufacture is possible by virtue of these features, as is ideal laying, with a relatively large thickness (D) and edge depth (M). <IMAGE>
