The invention describes circuit arrangements for an automatic vending machine having product shafts which each have their own dispensing device or the like, working independently of the other product shafts, and checking members. A progressive version of the invention consists of a central and preferably automatically working locking device, making do with a low circuitry outlay, and of a control circuit as well as, for each product shaft, of two monitoring switches and a manually actuated selector button. The number of components and of junction lines is reduced to a minimum. The circuit arrangement ensures that the presence of a product in a shaft to be selected and the proper basic position of the conveying device are made preconditions for putting into operation, that indicator lights can be connected without additional outlay, that the operating state of each product shaft can be recognised or interrogated even before a selector button is actuated, and that a zero-setting signal when a product is dispensed can be obtained from the circuit without additional outlay. <IMAGE>
