PURPOSE:To increase the safety of the gas oven by a method wherein the opening and closing of a main valve are displayed clearly by display elements of a digital type electro-optical display timepiece. CONSTITUTION:A display section 2 of the digital type electro-optical display timepiece provided on the front face 1a of the oven 1 has a plurality of display elements 5 adopted to display time by numerical elements 5a, a colon element 5b and AM (PM) elements 5c of the display elements 5. When the main valve 7 is closed, a switch 12 turns OFF and all of the numerical elements 5a, the colon element 5b and the AM (PM) elements 5c are lighted up to display time through a display control circuit 13. Further, when an operating member 15 and a lever 17 are rotated in the closed condition of the main valve 7, a gas flow hole 16 comes to communicate with a gas flow passage 6, the main valve 7 is opened and contacts 19 and 20 are closed to turn the switch 12 ON so that the AM (PM) elements 5c are flashed to show that the main valve 7 is opened. |
