摘要 The invention relates to a method for locating the airborne sound of blasts. It is known to use individual microphones at measuring locations, the distances of which are within the kilometre range, for determining the sites of guns. Transit time differences of the blast between in each case two measuring locations provide hyperbola, the point of intersection of which identify the gun site. Analysers must correlate blast patterns with the sound events and find identical reference points within the blast pattern in order to determine transit time differences between the blast patterns. Weather influences and different propagation paths of the blast make their determination more difficult. This problem is solved by using in each case one cross of four closely adjacent microphones at two measuring locations, the one axis of which cross points in one reference direction. Transit times between diametrically opposite microphones are placed in a ratio, the arc tangent of which specifies the bearing angle to the reference direction. From the two bearing angles, the gun site is determined, taking into consideration the position of the measuring locations. This method provides for artillery reconnaissance even under unfavourable weather conditions.
