The invention relates to the production of a façade unit having a textured reinforced concrete surface with formwork comprising a formwork substructure and, fastened over the full area of the latter, for example adhesively attached, a female mould comprising a rubber-like mat of elastomeric plastic, which is applied as a pourable or spreadable mass to a male mould; the invention provides that the shaping face of the female mould is sealed and then the sealed structures are filled with the plastics material of the female mould and the fillings are joined to one another by a thin layer, on the surface of which a planar flexible sheet is fastened over the full area by pressing in or by employing an adhesive, and that, after drawing or rolling off the male mould, the female mould is attached with the outer side of its mat over the full area of the formwork substructure.
