摘要 PURPOSE:To make the long range communication possible without damaging the security and make the device small in size, by adding hardware of a polarizing beam splitter, a light receiving part, an optical modulator, etc. to each of a transmitter and a receiver. CONSTITUTION:A transmitter III of the laser communication device is constituted with a laser oscillator 7, a polarizing filter 8, an optical modulator 9, a signal modulating part 10, a polarizing beam prism 11, and a light receiving part 12. A receiver IV is constituted with a polarizing beam prism 13, a light receiving part 14, a signal demodulating part 15, a laser oscillator 16, a polarizing filter 17, an optical modulator, and a mirror 19. A positioning pulse is generated from the modulating part 10 of the transmitter III to modulate the laser from the oscillator 7, and it is made incident to the light receiving part 14 when its optical axis coincides with that of the receiver IV, and a receiving signal is outputted from the modulator 15. At this time, a positioning completion pulse is generated from the demodulator 15, and the laser from the oscillator 16 is modulated by this pulse and is transferred to the light receiving part 12 of the transmitter III, thus making the long range communication possible without damaging the security.
