PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of decarburization while avoiding the influence of chromium oxide, by injecting oxygen into molten steel containing a large amount of chromium through the top side wall of a lance immersed in the molten steel inside a ladle. CONSTITUTION:A dipping lance 4 horizontally equipped with a nozzle 8 at the side wall of its top end is prepared. Said lance is immersed in molten steel 3 containing Cr>=30% inside a ladle 2. Oxygen is injected into the molten steel through the nozzle 8 in a decompressed atmosphere. By this method, oxygen is brought into contact with the molten steel 3 without being impeded by chromium oxide of small specific gravity floating on the molten steel 3, so that the efficiency of decarburization is improved. |
