A measuring instrument for measuring the positions and displacements of joints, limbs and spinal columns, comprises a unit having a pendulum 2 and a magnetic needle 3 having a common axis of rotation 4 and a common angular measurement scale 5 which is angularly movable, about axis 10,11 to permit the device to be used as either an inclinometer or a compass. The device is used to measure the curvature of the spine and the ability of the joints to move the limbs relative to external reference directions. It is mounted on the limb, etc to be investigated with axis 4 either horizontal or vertical, depending on the plane in which the angle to be investigated lies (Figs. 4 to 9). <IMAGE> |
