<p>Thixotropic contact adhesives comprising a soln. and/or dispersion of polychloroprene in a non-aqueous liquid with 0.1-10 pts. (per 100 pts compsn.) of a fatty acid deriv as thixotropic agent. Pref. compsns. contain polychloroprene and a reinforcing polymer such as chlorinated rubber, a heat resistant alkylphenol resin such as a tert. butyl phenol resin, a metal oxide such as MgO or ZnO and a fatty acid ester as thixotropic agent. Pref. the latter is hydrogenated caster oil. The adhesives can be applied more easily than contact adhesives, e.g. by brushing.</p> |
