PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and the economy of a particle accelerating power source by controlling a DC high voltage applied to a load through an AC thyristor switch and supplying the DC high voltage to a load via a GTO. CONSTITUTION:The rectified voltage by a rectifier 4 is supplied to a load 11 through a DC reactor 5A. A rectifying diode 6A is connected in parallel with the reactor 5A in a direction for blocking the DC high voltage rectified and in series with a variable resistor 7A. A GTO 8A is connected in parallel with the load 11. The detected voltage by a DC voltage detector 9 connected in parallel with the load 11 is transmitted to a controller 10A, thereby controlling an AC thyristor switch 2. |
