PURPOSE:To enable assuring optimum charge quantity at the last stage of charging automatically according as the residual capacity of a lead storage battery is large or small or the lead storage battery capacity is large or small by controlling the taper charging time at the last stage of charging with timer. CONSTITUTION:Since, at a time of charging a lead storage battery of discharge quantity C (Ah) before charging, quantity of electricity until gas generation is approximately 80-90% of the discharge quantity C, assuming full charge quantity as 1.05-1.10C, necessary taper charge quantity for making the charging current decrease taperly at the last stage of charging is (1.05C-1.1C)-(0.8C-0.9C), that is 0.15-0.3C. Accordingly, the ratio of the taper charge quantity to the charge quantity at the initial stage of charging is 0.15C/0.9C-0.3C/0.8C=0.144-0.37. Therefore, the taper-control of the charging current can be performed by a timer set timely so that the ratio of the charging hours t, at the initial stage to the charging hours t2-t1 at the last stage may conform to 0.144-0.37. |
