PURPOSE:To save time for form expansion and to shorten printing speed, by expanding only data without expanding a form every time in an electrophotographic printer. CONSTITUTION:Form information in a form buffer is transferred to an operation part by a form transfer command from a host computer 1. The operation part 2 expands the form information in a page memory 3. After the form expansion, data are sent from the computer 1 to the operation part 2. On the basis of the data, the operation part 2 originates data to form a clear table and sends the data to a clear controlling part 4. Simultaneously, the operation part 2 expands printing data in the memory 3. Subsequently, the operation part 2 reads out the data expanded in the memory 3 and sends the read-out data to a printer mechanical part 6 as a video signal. After completing said transmission, the operation part 2 sends a clear command for the data part to the controlling part 4. Receiving the command, the controlling part 4 clears only the data part of the memory 3. Consequently, the form information is left in the memory 3 as it is. |
