PURPOSE:To make the temp. difference between the upper and lower surfaces of a workpiece to be heated as small as possible, by letting high-temp. gas of a predetermined temp. flow along at least one surface of the workpiece to be heated existent in the predetermined zone of a continuous oven. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece W to be heated, after being charged through a door 1a, is heated up to a rolling temp. while being carried through a preheating zone A, a heating zone B and a soaking zone C by walking and stationary beams 2, 3, and then discharged through a door 1b. Exhaust gas after being sucked through a flue 7 into a gas header 4 for supplying high-temp. gas by a fan 12 is pressurized, heated at a temp. practically equal to the in-oven temp. of the soaking zone C by the heating means, e.g. a burner, of a temp. regulator 13 and then supplied. Consequently, the heated high-temp. gas is sprayed obliquely upwards toward the door 1a through a nozzle 5, and the stream of said high- temp. gas is intercepted by a skid pipe for the workpiece W to be heated so as to heat the low-temp. part of the workpiece W. Thus, the temp. difference between said low-temp. part and the uppser surface of the workpiece W to be heated can be held within about + or -10 deg.C. |
