PURPOSE:To control the particle size distribution of charged matter along a radial direction inside a bell-type blast furnace for stabilizing the operation of the furnace, by adjusting the opening rate and the stroking speed of a bell in response to the distribution of gas inside said furnace. CONSTITUTION:In response to the distribution of gas inside the bell-type blast furnace equipped with a plurality of bells 4, 5, the opening rate and the stroking speed of said bells 4, 5 are adjusted. Hereon, by making the opening rate of the bells small while reducing the speed of the bells, fine particles 10' fall down first, and coarse particles 10 fall down behind. Hence, the coarse particles 10 and the fine particles 10' are separately accumulated in a bell hopper 3 at the lowest stage and then charged through the bell 4 at the lowest stage while adjusting the distributed positions of the coarse particles 10 and the fine particles 10' as a raw material to be charged along a radial direction inside the furnace. Hence, the inflow of the fine particles into the central part of the furnace is inhibited to reduce resistance to gas permeation at the central part of the furnace. Consequently, the operation of the furnace is stabilized. |
