PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a belt type flexible cable despite of the repetition of reciprocating motions, by attaching the flexible cable with its center part bent into a U shape along the head shifting direction and at the position near a head shifting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A disk revolving motor 2 is revolved to revolve a disk 4 at a constant speed. Under such conditions, the driving power and control signal are supplied to a head shifting mechanism 6, an optical head 14 and an actuator 15 via flexible cables 20 and 21. Thus the head 14 and the actuator 15 shift in the disk radius direction in response to the movement of a carriage 6B and at the same time perform optical record or reproduction to the record track of the disk 4. In this case, flexible cables 20-23 have deformations in response to the movement of the carriage 6B. However these cables can move smooth with deformations with a small load to the mechanism 6 since they are very thin and flexible. |
