PURPOSE:To perform electronically beam scanning over a wide angular range in the vertical plane even with a limitation to the height of a reflecting plate as well as that of 360 deg. in the horizontal plane without forcing a wide angle beam scanning to a phased array, by using metallic strip flat plates having different installation angle. CONSTITUTION:Rays R1, R2 irradiated from the phased array 1 are reflected on a metallic flat plate 6a and led to a direction of theta1 and the direction of theta1 is scanned electronically by changing electronically the theta1. In operating the metallic strip flat plates 6a-6d as the reflecting plates, the flat plates 6a, 6c are used for the beam scanning with a comparatively high angle of elevation and the flat plates 6b, 6d are used for the beam scanning having a comparatively low angle of elevation close to the horizontal direction. The beam scanning is attained by the phased array 1 for a range of + or -45 deg. in the horizontal plane per one metallic strip flat plate, and the beam scanning of 360 deg. in the horizontal plane is attained by combining the plates turned by 90 deg. around a vertical axis A. |
