PURPOSE:To obtain close contact between the positive pole plate and retainer and reduce an internal resistance by integrally providing a resin frame to the lead lattice of the positive pole plate and by filling said frame with active substance and simultaneously accommodating the retainer in the external space thereof. CONSTITUTION:A resin frame 2 in the constant height in the thickness direction of lead lattice 1 of the positive pole plate is integrally provided to both faces of the lattice 1 and thereby thickness of the area of the lattice 1 filled with active substance is made constant by the intermediate frame of resin 2a. Simultaneously, an unwoven fabric retainer 3 made of glass fiber is engaged with the space surrounded by the resin frame 2. It is then compressed in the specified thickness and thereby the positive pole plate 4 is securely placed in contact with the retainer 3 and thereafter the negative pole plates 8 are arranged on both sides. Thus, a sealed type lead storage battery can be formed. Accordingly, the amount of electrolyte held in the retainer 3 is kept constant, eliminating any possibility of leak thereof, reducing the internal resistance and preventing defective capacity of battery due to uneven grade of workmanship. |
