PURPOSE:To make the unfurling and furling operation of a sail easy and performable in an automated manner by means of remote control, by attaching a wire rope winding mechanism to a lower edge tip of the sail. CONSTITUTION:A wire rope 15 is attached to the tip of a jib's lower end edge 14b, while this wire rope 15 is coiled up in a winch 16 installed on the underside of a boom 9 by way of a roller 7. In time of unfurling a jib 14, the wire rope 15 attached to a lower edge tip of the jib 14 is hoisted round in the winch 16 whereby the jib 14 so far rolled round in a takeup rollr 4 built in a mast 2 is drawn out along a slit 13 in the boom 9 and unfurled. On the other hand, in time of furling the jib 14, a motor 7 is driven, rotating the takeup roller 4, whereby the jib is rolled round in the takeup roller 4, thus can be furled up. |
