PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium superior in electromagnetic and physical characteristics, by incorporating cellulose nitrate contg. an org. solvent inactive on an isocyanate group and capable of dissolving cellulose nitrate in a binder. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape having superior electromagnetic characteristics is obtained by using cellulose nitrate contg. an organic solvent inactive on an isocyanate group and capable of dissolving cellulose nitrate, such as methyl ethyl ketone or methyl isobutyl ketone, alone or mixed with a solvent inactive on the isocyanate group and incapable of dissolving cellulose nitrate, such as hexane or cyclohexane, and preparing a magnetic coating material having high dispersiblity. An amt. of org. solvent dissolving cellulose nitrate is >=20wt% of the total amt. of the org. solvent. |
