PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply change the size of a vibration surface without generating reflection or pervious inferiority, by providing a wedge having a convex curved surface, a vibrator provided to the convex curved surface and an electrode provided to the rear surface of the vibrator in a freely slidable manner. CONSTITUTION:When pulse voltage is applied between lead wires 221, 222 after a wedge 11 having a convex curved surface 12 is set to an object 6 to be inspected, ultrasonic waves are generated in the region of a vibrator 14 having an electrode 21 and propagated through the wedge 11 to be propagated to the object 6 to be inspected as shown by the arrow 23 while refracted at an incident point 12. As the result, because two wedges are not used, the reflection or the pervious lowering of ultrasonic waves at the interface of said wedges can be eliminated and ultrasonic waves can be stably projected into the object 6 to be inspected from the vibrator 14. In addition, an electrode casing 19 is moved along the slits 171, 172, of slide guide plates 161, 162 and the position of the electrode 21 in the casing 19 is changed to make the refraction angle of ultrasonic waves changeable. Further by changing the configuration of the electrode 21, the size of the vibration surface can be easily changed. |
