PURPOSE:To perform picture pattern checking highly accurately even though the position of a printed material conveying system is deviated, by comparing sample line data and standard line data, and judging the quality based on whether the minimum value of the level difference is within the tolerance or not. CONSTITUTION:The picture pattern on a printed material 1 is scanned by a camera 2, and the image data is obtained. At this time, the amount of rotation of a conveying cylinder 3 is obtained by a rotary encoder 4 and imparted to a synchronizing circuit 21. The circuit 21 imparts its output to the camera 2, an A/D converter 22, and an address circuit 24. Then, scanning synchronization of the camera 2, synchronization of the A/D conversion of the picture data obtained by the camera 2, and the address assignment to a standard picture element data memory 25 and a picture element control data memory 26 are performed. Therefore, accurate data matching can be obtained in the writing of the standard data into the memory 25 and in data reading out of the memories 25 and 26 for judging operation in a judging circuit 23 when sample line data is detected. The data for imparting tolerance to every picture element is set in the memory 26 in advance. |
