PURPOSE:To perform automatic sorting operation with high precision at a high speed, by moving a work conveyed by a conveyor pawl from the conveyor pawl to a conveyer belt and then taking a measurement. CONSTITUTION:The conveyor pawl 9 and conveyor belt 19 rotate in the same direction at nearly equal speeds (without exceeding a conveyor speed) and a work W fed to the conveyor is conveyed whie mounted on the lower corner part of the conveyor pawl 9. Then, the conveyor pawl 9 moves to a measurement inclination position and the work W is passed from the conveyor pawl 9 to the conveyor belt 19, but a balancing mechanism 2 measures the weight of the work W under a command generated before or after the mounting, so that a sorting gate selected on the basis of the measurement result is opened toward a low- level part side. The work W passed through the balancing mechanism 2 is mounted by the conveyor pawl 9 at an intermediate inclination position and the conveyor belt 9 oscillates to a discharge inclination position 19d when the work arrives at over a discharge shoot 5 corresponding to the weight section, dropping the work into a discharge shoot 5. |
