PURPOSE:To facilitate the processing of the brake disc and improve the cooling property by providing communication holes which open at different positions as viewed in the radial direction, on both surfaces of the brake disc. CONSTITUTION:In the brake disc 3 which applies braking by urging pads using an operating device such as a caliper piston 10 or the like, communication holes 13 whose openings 11 and 12 are deviated in the radial direction on both surfaces of the brake disc 3, that is, whose openings have different distances from the center of the disc 3, are provided. The holes are formed by drilling, but those each of which penetrates obliquely straight from one surface to another, may be also sufficient. A large number of communication holes 13 are provided in the circumferential direction at a predetermined interval. When the disc 3 rotates, air in the vicinities of the communication holes is flowed by the centrifugal force from the opening 11 which is located nearer from the center toward the opening 12 which is located farther from the center, and cool air introduced though an inlet port 6 flows in the vicinity of the disc 3. As a result, the disc 3 is cooled. |
