PURPOSE:To obtain a correlation coefficient which has superior responsibility and high reliability, by recording the 2nd signal by using an (n)-bit memory and finding the number of the 1st corresponding bit coincidences between said recorded value and the recorded value of the 1st signal another memory. CONSTITUTION:The capacities of the 1st and the 2nd sampling register 19 and 20 are denoted as N and (n). One clock pulse is generated by an oscillator 14 to apply new data to the sampling register 19, and when the last data is shifted, bit by bit, the new data is moved to an N-bit auxiliary register 21 immediately. Then, the data is shifted by shift pulses of frequency which is at least N times as high as that of clock pulses and the degree of coincidence is found simultaneously. Namely, exclusive OR circuits 22-29 input the outputs of comparisons between the least significant digit (n) bits of the auxiliary register 21 and (n) corresponding digit data of the sampling register 20 to a coincidence degree calculating circuit 30, which outputs their mean value. Thus, the resolution of the correlation coefficient of a correlator is improved to one (n)th as large as before without spoiling time-axis resolution. |
