PURPOSE:To decrease the operation time required for positioning, by comparing a track address obtained by a previous poitioning instruction with a track address designated concurrently with a record/reproduction instruction and then transmitting an address given from a host device when coincidence is obtained from said comparison. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk processor 10 receives a positioning instruction and a track address showing a position from a host device 20 at a data transfer control circut 2 via a selecting circuit 1. The circuit 2 supplies this signal to a microprocessor 3. The processor 3 compares a track number fed in a record/ reproduction mode with the present track address fed and stored previously when the positioning is over and then transmits the track addres stored previously to an optical disk device 30. The disk device 30 compares the track address fed first with the present track address and then positions a magnetic head at a desired track when coincidence of comparison is obtained. |
