PURPOSE:To provide a power source for welding which permits the adjustment of its output over a wide range, by adjusting a DC power source by a switching circuit conducted and controlled by a pulse generation circuit generating pulses at approximately a specified width and variable intervals and supplying the pulses to a load. CONSTITUTION:The output of a DC power source is converted to a high frequency AC by transistors 201 and 202 of a switching circuit 2, whereafter the AC is again converted to DC by a rectifier circuit 6, and is supplied to a load 4. The output (e) is detected by a detection circuit 8 and is made to (ea) which is then compared with the output (er) of a setting circuit 7 for a reference voltage. A differential output DELTAe=er-ea is calculated and is used as a command signal for a pulse generation circuit 10. The circuit 10 supplies the pulses of the pulse intervals corresponding to the input signal and approximately a specified time width as driving signals to the TRs 201 and 202 of the circuit 2. As a result, the voltage to be supplied to the load 4 is maintained at the specified value corresponding to the voltage (ea) set in the circuit 7. |
