PURPOSE:To adhere a pipe tightly to a resin mold to reinforce it, by setting a tension resistant member longitudinally to a coated optical fiber, forming a resin mold around them, and coating its outer circumference with a heat shrinkable pipe, and shrinking it. CONSTITUTION:In the case of connecting a pair of coated optical fibers 1A, 1B each having an uncoated part 3A, 3B with each other, the tension resistant member 4 is set longitudinally ranging over the butt joint part of the uncoated parts 3A, 3B and the coated parts 1A, 1B, and the resin mold 5 is formed around the memer 4 and all the parts 1A, 1B, 3A, 3B by the molding method. Then, the outer circumference of the mold 5 is covered with the heat shrinkable pipe 6 to adhere it tightly to the mold 5 by heating it. The mold 5 is made of nylon, PE, EVA, urethane, epoxy, silicone, or the like. The heat shrinkable resin 6 is made of plastics. |
