<p>A container (1) and cover (2) are fixed one to the other by welding or by gluing. Small lugs (5) are attached to the top surface of the cover. Folding handles (7) are attached to the lugs to facilitate manual handling of the accumulator. The handles may be of a rigid material or a flexible material such as cords, and the arrangement of the support lugs in the cover surface is such that the handles can be folded clear to allow access to the cell filler holes (4) in the top cover. The handles lie clear of the accumulator terminals (3) in all possible positions. The normal position for the handles to lie is facing each other on top of the cover. The lugs may be placed at each corner of the cover, or alternatively there may be only two lugs, one at each end of the central axis of the cover.</p> |
