CHLORINE ELECTRODE FOR ZINC-CHLORINE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To uniformalize the current distribution in a chlorine electrode box and prevent the dendrite deposition of zinc on a negative electrode plate and then improve energy efficiency by providing a collector body at a position separated away from the collector plate of a chlorine electrode box that is protruded from the collector plate and connecting the said collector body to the collector plate using a conductive body. CONSTITUTION:A liquid transmission type chlorine electrode box 3 whose both surfaces are formed with a porous graphite plate is protruded on one side of a collector plate 1 in a comb shape. A collector body 4 is mounted at a position (the tip of the chlorine electrode box shown in the drawing) separated away from the collector plate 1 of the chlorine electrode box 3 that is protruded on one side of the collector plate 1 and one end of the collector body 4 is connected to the collector plate 1 using a conductive body 5. The collector body and the conductive body are made of the hard graphite or titanium with good conductivity. The collector bodies with such arbitrary shapes as a plate, square rod, and round rod are used. A hole or a recessed groove for mounting the collector body is provided at a position separated away from the collector plate of the chlorine electrode box that is protruded from the collector p late and the collector body is fit or inserted in it or the plate-type collector body 4 is bent in a U-shaped form matching the end shape of the chlorine electrode box 3 and can be mounted on the end of the chlorine electrode box 3.
