The invention relates to an insulating ceiling having insulating tiles formed from expanded plastic and interlocking with tongue and groove. The run-off of water dropping onto the insulating ceiling is to be ensured by the top legs of the groove of one side of the insulating tiles having at their free end a recess which is directed towards the groove and under which a gap remains free, and by the joints which run transversely and with a slope to this horizontal groove being overlapped by laterally projecting top profiled strips of supporting strips engaging in the joints, under which profiled strips discharge channels running parallel to the joints are formed in the surface of the insulating tiles. The water running off is thus reliably kept away from both the horizontal and the sloping joints.
