<p>The invention relates to a spring system with progressive characteristic which can preferably be used in the bogies of railway vehicles. This spring system consists of an upper and a lower helical spring, clamped between an upper and a lower spring plate, also of an intermediate plate which is inserted between the helical springs and finally of a stop support. The essential feature of the invention consists in the fact that the intermediate plate is designed in such a way that it permits the helical springs to move in the transverse direction as well. The intermediate plate rests on the stop support in the case of a previously determined loading of the spring system, as a result of which one helical spring is simultaneously relieved of its further functions. In this way, a "flexicoil" spring system can be formed in a relatively simple and cheap fashion by using the proposed solution, which spring system has a progressive characteristic which satisfies the respective requirements and at the same time can also be loaded by transversely directed forces.</p> |
