PURPOSE:To part two sheets of flexible substrates with good accuracy and to improve productivity by forming beforehand perforations only in the parting places in the unnecessary parts of the substrate which is not formed with terminals of two sheets of the flexible substrates and parting the substrates at the perforations after pasting both substrates. CONSTITUTION:Linear perforations 10 are beforehand put in the parting places of a substrate 1 on a common electrode side in the production of a liquid crystal display element using flexible plastic film substrates, whereafter the substrate is pasted to a substrate on a segment side, and the substrates are parted at the perforations 10 as shown by arrows to remove unnecessary parts. The danger for parting the terminal electrodes 4 formed on the substrate 2 is thus eliminated and the easy parting is made possible. If diagonal linear perforations 12 are put on the substrate in the case of multiple-pieces production, the cutting through of the parting lines to the seal 3 side is prevented. The substrates are thus parted with good accuracy and production efficiency is improved. |
