PURPOSE:To obtain a storage battery in which no short circuits develop and which has an increased life by using a clad positive plate body unified by means of a synthetic-resin frame body or a resin body. CONSTITUTION:In a clad positive plate body 13, the foot of the positive plate body 13 located at the lower ends of tubes 3 also is covered by a frame body 12 or a resin body 14 which has an equal thickness to or a larger thickness than a clad positive electrode 1. As a result, even when a deposit touches the foot of the positive plate body 13 after touching the foot of a negative plate 5, no short circuits develop since the foot of the positive late body 13 is in an electrically insulated state. In addition, even when a separated active material 4 deposits in the upper part of a plate group after being agitated by gas or the like generated during charging, no short circuits develop in the clad positive plate body 13 in the same manner as in the lower part. |
