A lubricant additive with both VI improving and dispersant properties is a polyisobutylene succinimide derived from a polyisobutylene with a weight average molecular weight of at least 10,000 and with a molar ratio of amine to acid or anhydride groups of less than 1:1. The use of such molar ratios enhances the VI improving properties by improving the viscosity/temperature relationship. |
