PURPOSE:To accurately measure a tilt angle without being influenced by a temperature change by providing an arithmetic means to calculate a tilt of the titled sensor main body based on a phase of a composite signal of each signal outputted by a detection means with a signal outputted by a signal output means to output a signal with the prescribed amplitude regardless of the tilt of the sensor main body. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 3-6 are provided so that the surface of a liquid 2 comes to just the intermediate position when there is no tilt on one side 1a of a box body 1 and an electrode 7 is provided at the position which is immersed in the liquid 2 at all times in the neighborhood of the center in the width direction. Resistance values of the liquid 2 between the electrodes 3-7 and a common electrode 8 are donoted as r3-r7 respectively and sin waves of A sin wt, B sin (wt+1/2.pi), C sin (wt+pi), D sin (wt+3/2.pi) and E sin (wt+3/4.pi) in order from an oscillation circuit 9 are impressed on the electrodes 3-7. The signal from the common electrode 8 is amplified by an amplifier 10 and the phase is measured by a phase measurement circuit 11. The phase measured by the phase measurement circuit 11 is converted into the tilt in the direction of the surface of the side 1a of the box body 1 by a conversion circuit 12 and displayed on a display device 13.
