Sausage casing, consisting of a textile knit-fabric and an impregnation of a fibrous swelling composition, such as collagen, characterised in that the filaments, which are smooth in their longitudinal direction, of the knit-fabric are tied exclusively in the form of stitches which are deformable in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the sausage casing and the main stitch dimension of which is at least about eight times the filament diameter and the free area of which is at least 60%.</p> |
