PURPOSE:The titled foam, obtained by adding a specific diol as a crosslinking agent to a reaction mixture in reacting a polyol with catalyst, foaming agent, polyisocyanate, etc., to give a polyurethane foam and capable of retaining a high hardness at the same density without deteriorating elongation. CONSTITUTION:A foam obtained by reacting a mixture containing a polyol having preferably 20-150mgKOH/g hydroxyl value, a catalyst, foaming agent, foam stabilizer, another assistant and a diol prepared by addition polymerization of 2-10mol ethylene oxide (E.O) with 1mol bisphenol A, preferably a mixture with 2-6mol average amount of added E.O under pressure with a polyisocyanate as a crosslinking agent. The amount of the above-mentioned diol to be used is normally 1-10pts.wt. based on the polyol and can be used together with another crosslinking agent, e.g. ethylene glycol, etc.
