Template for applying a relief finish to a wall surface

A masonry-like relief finish is to be applied to a wall surface. For this purpose, a network having webs corresponding to the joints of the masonry and empty spaces formed in between is provided. The network is composed of moisture-resistant material provided with a detachable adhesive layer. This network is covered, on the side carrying the adhesive layer, by a continuous carrier foil, of plastic, also extending over the empty spaces. After removal from the carrier foil, the network is bonded to the wall surface with the adhesive layer. Plaster is then applied to the empty areas and the network is finally removed again.
