PURPOSE:To prevent damage due to external pressure and tension and to improve reliability by equipping the coat part of an optical fiber cable with a bush, and folding and adhering the tensile-strength body in the cable to the outer circumference of the bush. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber cables 1, and 1' to be connected togehter are equipped with the bush 2 and either cable is inserted into a reinforcing pipe 4 made of metal; and end parts of the cables 1 and 1' are stripped off to specific length, and exposed strands 11 and 11' of the optical fibers to be connected are treated as specified and welded in an abutting state. Then, this part is fixed with a connection reinforcing member 2 and bushes are adhered to terminals of both optical fiber coats 13; and tensile-strength bodies impregnated with adhesives which are to be disposed in the cables 1 and 1' are folded and adhered ro the external circumferences of the bushes 3, and the reinforcing pipe 4 is moved to cover the whole of the connection part of the cable 1 and 1'. Then, the entire circumferences of the ends are calked. |
