For the control of the momentum `of an air stream of variable-volume systems, a process and a device are used with which a number of outlet openings (2) of an outlet rail (3) are closed or opened by a slider (1). The slider (1) has cut-outs (2) for this purpose which extend over two adjacent outlet openings. A servomotor (5) to operate the slider (1) is arranged between the slider (1) and a perforated metal sheet (6) arranged at a spacing in front of it in the direction of flow. Extruded profiles (7) are arranged on both sides of the inductive outlet along its length and, with the slider (1), the outlet rail (3) and the perforated metal sheet (6), and also the integrated servomotor (5), form a constructional unit. <IMAGE>
