A liquid filter is proposed which serves to clean fuel in a fuel supply installation for internal combustion machines. The liquid filter (22) has a housing (54), on which are formed an attachment flange (55) and filter surfaces (57). Bridges (56), opposite to each other, of the housing (54) are U-shaped as guide rails (61), into which a permanent magnet (63), designed as a flat magnet, is pushed and held via locking grooves (65) at locking catches (64) of the guide rails (61). <IMAGE>
