<p>Between the detector and the rate meter/alarm trigger unit, two R-C integrating networks are connected. These are in parallel under quiescent conditions, but when the object to be monitored is introduced to the detector they are separately connected to the inputs of a differential amplifier. One integrates background radiation only and the other integrates both background and contamination so that the differential output represents contamination level only.</p> |
