On a device for dressing the end of a plastic-encased steel pipe for a sleeve joint, the object is to provide a device with which both the thread and the milled portion of the plastic casing can be produced in a highly accurate and simple manner on the construction site. The invention is characterised by a guide, which can be pushed into the steel pipe and can be clamped in place concentrically in the steel pipe, and by a tool carrier, movable in the peripheral and axial direction on this guide, for a thread-cutting tool and a milling tool. With this device, the thread can be cut in a highly accurate manner and at the same time the plastic casing can be milled down to the desired diameter.
