A filter and demodulation circuit for the intermediate frequency of a frequency-modulated carrier is proposed which has a correctable filter, a demodulator following this filter and a network (18) connected between the demodulator output and the control input of the filter. The network forms from the output voltage of the demodulator (14) a correction voltage which takes into consideration the filter delay and which is added to the filter-correcting voltage. In detail, the output voltage (UA) is clocked and supplied via a storage capacitor (27) to a first input and also unchanged to a second input of a subtraction circuit (24) and the difference (UD) is supplied via an envelope curve detector (34) to one input (37) of an addition circuit (32), at the other input (31) of which the output voltage (UA) is present. The aggregate voltage at the output of the addition circuit is then a corrected filter-correcting voltage (Z). <IMAGE>
