PURPOSE:To prevent disorder of synchronism and deterioration in picture quality due to noise by setting the timing of the switching of a selected element within the horizontal blanking period of a compressed color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 40 consists of four delay elements 41A-41D and a switching circuit 42 which selects compressed color difference signals, i.e. delay outputs and arrays them successively and alternately is provided behind the compressor. Switching control over outputs of the elements 41A-41D is performed by switching pulses PS generated by a switching pulse generating circuit 70 to set the switching timing in a horizontal blanking period of a compressed difference signal SC, specially right after reference pulse insertion. Consequently, even if switching noises are generated by switches SW1-SW3 during switching, deterioration in S/N due to the switching noises is eliminated. |
