Process for the production of a salt lick

A process is described for the production of a salt lick, in which sodium chloride is mixed with the remaining components of the salt lick, that is the trace element premix, and the mixture thus obtained is compressed. Sodium chloride having a mean particle size of 0.3 to 1.5 (determined in accordance with DIN 4188) and a pulverulent trace element premix are used, the pressing process is interrupted at least once to deaerate the pressed body and pressing is then completed by pressing to a density of 2 to 2.1 g/cm<3>.
