Vector carrying the promotor of the lactose operon and at least a fragment of the Z gene of the said operon, characterized by the insertion in said vector of at least one sequence comprising the proximal portion of a gene coding at least part of an extracytoplasmic protein normally located inside of the external membrane of the host-cell of origin or likely to be released in the culture medium of the latter, the length of this sequence of extracytoplasmic gene being sufficient to permit excretion, under the control of the promotor of the lactose operon, of a hybrid protein containing said part of cytoplasmic protein and liable of being expressed in a culture of cells, particularly of a bacterial strain, in which said vector will have been introduced beforehand.
