PURPOSE:To provide a polyester resin compsn. which has excellent melt stability during molding and gives molding which scarcely forms flash, by mixing polyethylene terephthalate having a high intrinsic viscosity with a high-molecular polyglycidyl methacrylate. CONSTITUTION:90-99.99wt% polyethylene terephthalate (A) having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.35 or above, contg. 0.05-5wt% compd. of formula I or II (wherein M, M' are each an alkali metal; n, m are each 1-2) is mixed with 10-0.01wt% polyglycidyl (meth)acrylate (B) having an MW of 900 or above to obtain the desired polyester resin compsn. The component B can be obtd. by radical- polymerizing a soln. of glycidyl methacrylate monomer in the presence of a catalyst. If desired, an aliph. polyester having an MW of 2,000 or above, a reinforcing agent (e.g., glass fiber), etc., may be used in addition to the components A and B.
